Follow along as Magistrate Steve Massie gives WVNS a tour of the new Raleigh County Magistrate Court.

Dear citizens of Raleigh County,
I want to thank you again for allowing me to serve you as Magistrate. I want to assure you that I do and will continue to serve you with integrity and fairness, always putting the interests of the law and the good people of this county in the foreground of every decision. The nature of any judicial office restricts comments or promises concerning my personal ideals pertaining to most issues and leaves only my record to gage my performance, so please look into how I have performed. Politicians want to run on their record but only a public servant would invite you to ask others about his record and that is precisely what I am inviting you to do. Ask any police officer, attorney, litigant or criminal how Magistrate Massie has performed since elected in 2004. I am proud of the work that I have done for you since being elected.
Integrity, efficiency and the administration of the court are three areas that I may comment on and I have made them a focus of my time serving you. I know that the business of my office branches in many different directions not the least of which includes assisting the citizenry in an array of situations. Whether it be paying a citation or just asking a question in my office you will be treated with courteous efficiency. I understand that the money we spend in government is your money, the people’s money and that you expect us to spend it wisely. I pledge to you that I have and will continue to operate my court with that understanding.
I am dedicated to protecting the liberties of the people of Raleigh County today, as I was to the United States as I protected her liberties from foreign aggression during my military career. I counted it an honor and a blessing from God to have the opportunity to serve then and now.
Respectfully,
Magistrate Steve Massie
